Hilights of today, in reverse chronological order:

Gossamer beads of sunlit dew glistening off of a breeze swept spider's web - Starlinks launched a few hours earlier, just starting to spread in twilight. Not as bright as the last time, but an ethereal sight I won't forget. Too quick to count, but I approximate 30 flashes seen from the group, all within 2-3 seconds.

Had been preceded by a few seconds by a huge flock of geese headed north. Farmer's Almanac for today states: "Winter's back breaks".

Mercury seen in retrograde naked eye and verified with binoculars low in west from bridge 7 minutes earlier, 24 minutes after sunset.

While walking dog back from Gathering Place (nearly 70 deg F today) 3 little girls said in perfect unison "Your dog is sooo cute!" (school out today for President's Day)
