Heya, Yes! I saw it this morning on my way out to take some pictures of the sunrise. It occurred roughly 5:50 am EST, travelled north slowly for about 90 seconds then broke into several fragments. It left a magnificent smoke trail behind it. I was driving at the time, so I didn't get any pictures of it, although there's a photo on cnn.com: http://www.cnn.com/2001/TECH/space/09/06/space.junk.ap/index.html It was bright white and I almost passed it off as a plane at first glance. Very cool. ~~K Kevin Z Grey Software Engineer http://www.kzgrey.com > -----Original Message----- > From: McConahy, Ralph [mailto:RMcConahy@jbar.gdscc.nasa.gov] > Sent: Thursday, September 06, 2001 1:09 PM > To: SeeSat-L (E-mail) > Subject: SL3 rocket body reentry (?) > > > > "A fiery object streaked across the sky over much of the East > Coast early > Thursday, and Navy officials said it was a Russian rocket > that re-entered > the atmosphere after orbiting Earth since 1975.
