On Friday 7 November, I set up to observe the 18:09 UTC pass of USA 81 (21949, 92-023A) which is on Daniel Deak's flasher list. Observing with 7x50 binoculars in strong light from the waxing gibbous Moon, I detected no discernible flashing until very late in the pass at around 18:13, and even then I am not sure I saw any. Magnitude seemed stable at around 5.5 at culmination (my estimate). Does the flashing behaviour of this sat depend on the sun/observer geometry? Or was I mistaking another sat for this one?
