Hello All,
March 11, 2000 0100 UTC
The latest OIG/GSFC SSR has a clean bill of health in no impossible
cataloged entries were found based on NORAD number comparison to
Int'l launch designation (cospar). :)
The principle message ends here, but please read on.
However, and dependent fully on if ones TLE is latest update or
change, USSPACECOM elsets were less than perfect using the same test.
Having auto reject (but saved) since 1998 any updating elset with
conflicting or no cospar, what may be old hat below is news to me.
I provided the 'test' results first then the specifics.
Conclusion:
NORAD 05648U TLE (a 1971 number) was bestowed/has a 1975 object. The
latest OIG SSR has a modified 1971 entry, but TLE just provided does
not match it. Its still a 1975 object.
NORAD 21237U TLE (a 1991 number) was modified with a 1986 cospar/set.
A program review of _all_ available OIG web TLEs downloaded in early
1999 will be done to identify such modifications. No point, I agree,
of looking for water that already past under the bridge. Just to see
what I missed. If anything significant I'll past it along.
