Hello All,
An off topic item...correction and withdrawal.
Corrected yeary orbiting achieved count and last yearly cataloged object.
Please see note at bottom of message for explaination. Also note SSR
errors found for years I was able to review.
===========================================================================
Based on OIG/GSFC Satellite Situation Report vol 41 #2 released Mar 3,
2000
count of objects achieving orbit each of the past 43 years.
Fourth number (unknowns) on each line below is
non-earth/determined/released
count of objects. Currently about 133 objects of the 627 unknowns have
been
_published_ as being non-earth orbit. The rest, no info known or
classified
objects.

The program correctly read the data from the SSR, but, and thanks to
point raised by, Jay Respler, I remembered most debris cospars are not
associated with the _actual_ launch year of the parent object. Or to
put it another way: The SSR has a 'limitation' for me (Ha!) in publishing
the parent launch date for a debris item in lieu of the actual
_discovery_
date of the object. Granted the item was indeed launch as stated, but not
separated until later. No problem with the actual cospar...its essential
as is and must _not_ be changed!
Program has been corrected (v3.0) but withdrawn due to requirement of
yearly updates. :-( Should OIG decide to change the policy.... :-)
Program has ability to filter out invalid re-cataloged objects. Objects
having cospars associated with a NORAD number that existed prior to
year it was "launched". I'll provide a list soon.
