    	Certainly the first piece I observed detached while Columbia was to
    the west of me.  While any such debris that fell before the main breakup
    would be much harder to find (assuming any actually reached the Earth), these
    pieces I would guess would be much more valuable in the determination of what
    exactly happened so some effort may be expended in trying to locate these.
    Or at least the public ought to be informed of the possibility.
    
    	I'm wondering if some of the loss of the various sensor readings is
    tied to the debris separation.  Rick Baldridge's observation and mine have
    debris separation correlated in time to the minute level (as best as I know
    about) with some of sensor dropouts.
