My condolences to the many people who are suffering as a result of this morning's terribly sad events. About an hour before, I had checked the GOES weather images, and was pleased to see that many of our friends in in the southern U.S.A. would be able to observe Columbia's return home. Space flight blesses us with so many beautiful sights, so I was looking forward to your excited posts describing yet another beautiful re-entry. Instead, you bore witness to a tragedy. It is the cruellest reminder of the thin line separating beauty and disaster, and of the courage of the men and women who choose to journey into space. I believe that the rest of us have the courage to continue the journey, but today we mourn.
