I was amazed to see possibly the deep twilite pass AND the 1:02 pass. 1st "pass" was two very faint flashes with 10 x 50's - estimated at +2 very low in S only 20 minutes after sunset (date = 11/30/05): Time (UT) Azi Alt 1 23:28:54 185 10 2 23:29:02 190 10 I would characterize these as "dubious" - until I saw the next pass (now 12-1-05): 1 1:02:35 210 5 2 1:02:42 205 5 Both flashes were about +4 or +5 and I could just see it between them - then it cut out fast at shadow ingress. At such low altitude, I was amazed to see it but I'm sure I did at the 2nd pass. With my dropped jaw I ran back to "normal" site 2 blocks away in time to see 2 flashes from Telstar 401(all 1x): Time (UT) Mag 1 1:07:07 +3.5 2 1:08:41 +4 Then, same as last night, I switched to 10 x 50's and no more flashes (plus clouds peppered in). Failed to see TiPS in the interim on a great pass was only disappointment - and I broke my favorite observing chair! What a night.
