I believe that I have found the shuttle pass in the summer of 2001 during which Kurt Russell and his son observed a water dump. Here
    is the ephemeris:

The detailed timeline shows a waste water dump scheduled for the period 19:55 UTC to 21:05 UTC:

    http://spaceflight.nasa.gov/shuttle/archives/sts-105/timeline/fd05det.pdf

Kurt was fortunate to catch the final minutes of the scheduled dump, as did Leo Barhorst and others:

    http://satobs.org/seesat/Aug-2001/0203.html

The SeeSat-L archives for 2001 Aug contain more than one thread on this event, and water dumps in general.

They are scheduled, and the above shuttle timeline site is the best source known to me; however, the detailed timelines are posted
on the day in question, and sometimes well into the day, so it is possible to receive the information too late.

I believe that someone should make a special effort to find a reliable source of water dump schedules with sufficient lead time, say
12 hours minimum, to facilitate posting alerts on SeeSat-L.
